Shalyn
Tell us a little bit about yourself
Hi! I'm Shalyn! And I absolutely adore animals. My fiance jokes that I'm actually a dog in human form with how much I get along with all dogs and people. I have 3 rescue dogs of my own and a diva named Tasi who is my beautiful rescue Siamese. In my free time, I spend many hours in my garden, doing homework, reading historical nonfiction, studying herbal medicine and keeping my body moving with dance, flexibility training and/or aerial arts. I'm currently going to school to be a mortician, hoping I can open my own funeral home within the next 5 years. I have a passion for nurturing all living beings and I try to make sure I'm living my day to life as authentically and compassionately as I can. I am a lover of live music, my bar family (I bartend at Aces High Saloon as well) , old books, and empty libraries. I find solace in the rivers and trees and the way dogs express themselves. I garden, spin fire, perform, daydream.

Tell us about a funny dog sitting/hiking story if you have one.
Some of my favorite moments are when the dogs realize they've reached a watering hole and submerge themselves in the water! Some dogs have just stopped and blown bubbles, others turn into fish and stay there as long as they can.
Another favorite moment of mine is when a sleepy dog decides to snuggle as close to me as possible. The trust and affection they show is such a fulfilling feeling.
