Pet Care Specialist

Tell us a little bit about yourself

My love for animals started at a young age. However it wasn't until 2017 that I realized how important it was to help animals in need. I have been a volunteer at Animal Services for years, as well as starting my own non-profit to help move the needle. After working in Tech for almost 15 years, I knew it was time to make a drastic career change. I chose Aarf for many different many reasons but the foremost being the level of quality we give to each of our customers and pets.

What is your favorite part about working for Aarf?

The team's passion is a very valuable part. Additionally, Suzie's level of work and dedication is unmatched. The combination of the two make for a great working experience that is fun while also being valuable to our local communities.

How long have you been with Aarf?

November 2023

Tell us about a funny dog sitting/hiking story if you have one.

Each of my dogs are rescues and each one comes with an interesting, sometimes sad, backstory. My first rescue, Biz, was a "bait dog" meaning that he was used to make aggressive pitbulls ready to fight each other. When he first came home with me, he had a large amount of scars all over his face and neck that stayed with him for years. What I love about Biz is how unphased he is by his past, how free and happy he is despite his terrible first year. He is the embodiment of "always look on the bright side of life" and his energy is infectious to say the least. He is one of the reasons I never want to give up on difficult breed dogs.

What jobs do you do for Aarf?

Business Development Manager. I'm here to spread information around our great organization and the high quality of our services.

What is your favorite hike in Salt Lake? (With you without dogs)

Millcreek Canyon in the winter is beautiful, fun and serene. Can't get enough of it.
